According to a report via the Express who cite Gianluca Di Marzio, claims Manchester United have agreed a fee with Shakhtar Donetsk for Fred.

Manchester United have been linked with Shakhtar Donetsk star Fred ever since he saw a move to Manchester City fall through in January.

Jose Mourinho is keen on the 25-year-old as he targets Premier League glory next season.

Gianluca Di Marzio says United have agreed a £53million transfer fee with Shakhtar and the transfer is ‘done’.

Fred, who is currently with the Brazil squad ahead of this summer’s World Cup, also revealed United’s interest follows an approach made by their rivals Manchester City in January.

Speaking at a press conference covered by Globo Esporte, Fred said: “The talks had been in progress since January with City. Soon after, City and United talked to Shakhtar and my agents.

“And now, if I’m not mistaken, there was news of a very strong bid from United.”
