According to popular BBC journalist David Ornstein, Arsenal are already working hard on their summer transfer business with Unai Emery looking to bring in a new centre-back and box-to-box midfielder.
Ornstein, named Paris Saint Germain duo Christopher Nkunku and Adrien Rabiot as potential targets for Arsenal this summer, he also suggested that Arsenal may well look to bring in a striker and send Eddie Nketiah on loan this summer, with Danny Welbeck leaving the club.
Speaking on BBC Radio 5 Live on Tuesday, Ornstein has suggested this could cause Arsenal to look for a replacement.
Ornstein even went on to name drop some players who Arsenal have been keeping tabs on ahead of the summer window, claiming that the Gunners would reignite their interest in Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Christopher Nkunku.
“Their priorities are a central defender, Jeremy Wilson of the Telegraph mentioned the Getafe and Togo centre half, Djené, he’s under contract until 2023 with a reported value of £13.5m,” he added, quoted by The Metro.
Aaron Ramsey has played his final game for Arsenal ahead of his switch to Juventus this summer after eleven years at the club.
Arsenal ended their Premier League campaign on a high with an away win at Burnley, with Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang scoring twice to claim the Golden Boot, alongside Liverpool duo Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane.
The Gunners will face off against domestic rivals Chelsea in Baku later this month to try and secure the final spot in Europe’s elite competition.
Defeat in the final would leave Arsenal with a transfer budget this summer of roughly £40m, but BBC journalist David Ornstein claims Emery will be given much deeper pockets to help rebuild the squad before the start of the new campaign.
