Reports making the round claims Jose Mourinho is eyeing a move for Sampdoria defender Joachim Anderson.
Italian newspaper La Repubblica, as quoted by the Daily Mirror, is reporting that the Red Devils have been scouting Andersen over the past few months with view to a potential move.
The same article states that the Premier League club had four scouts at Sampdoria’s 4-1 loss to Torino in Serie A last weekend with the January transfer window looming on the horizon.
The Portuguese manager has been desperate to for added recruitment in defence with Eric Bailly, Phil Jones and Marcos Rojo also among those failing to convince him of their abilities.
Sampdoria are willing to sell Andersen, but will be hoping for a bidding war with Juventus, Tottenham and Inter credited with an interest.
It is understood the Serie A club are set to block any moves for Andersen in January, as the club do not want to disrupt their squad mid-way through the season.
But the Italian side values Andersen at £26million and will listen to offers in the summer.
