Arsenal will assess Mesut Ozil ahead of Chelsea’s visit with the German missing Sunday’s trip to The Hawthorns with a minor knee problem. He will be expected to return, with Alex Iwobi the most likely to make way in the front three.

Arsene Wenger also has concerns in defence, with Sead Kolasinac nursing a knock sustained in the 1-1 draw with West Brom.

The Bosnian departed on 39 minutes and could miss out against Chelsea, with Ainsley Maitland-Niles set to step in for a recall.

He would likely go into a wing-back role, with Wenger poised to mirror the Blues 3-4-2-1 formation.

The Gunners’ boss has options to add fresh legs to his midfield, with Francis Coquelin and Mohamed Elneny both available, while Danny Welbeck and Theo Walcott could help revive the attacking positions.

That quartet are expected to be named on the bench once again, however.

Aaron Ramsey and Olivier Giroud remain sidelined.
