Liverpool will lock horns with Arsenal over the signing of Borussia Monchengladbach winger Thorgan Hazard, according to reports.
The Belgium winger, brother of Chelsea star Eden, has been pushing for a move to Borussia Dortmund this summer in a £35million switch.
But Liverpool and Arsenal are closely watching his situation and will look to hijack a deal with his club Borussia Monchengladbach if the German clubs cannot agree.
Hazard has been on Liverpool’s radar after an impressive five season in Bundesliga.
The 26-year-old is seen at Anfield as a player who could bolster their attacking line ahead of another bid for Premier League title glory.
The Sun, Arsenal are keeping tabs on Hazard’s situation as Unai Emery is a huge admirer of the Belgium international.
Emery wants to improve Arsenal’s attacking options and had hoped that the arrival of Denis Suarez on loan from Barcelona would be the solution.
But Suarez has been unable to make an impact and Arsenal are expected to pass up the chance to sign the 25-year-old on a permanent deal for £18 million this summer.
Hazard was signed by Chelsea in 2012 but the Belgian did not make a senior appearance for the club and was instead sent out on loan to Belgian side Zulte Waregem before joining Monchengladbach.
