Lucas Moura (knee) will be assessed ahead of the visit of Manchester United, while Jan Vertonghen (thigh) has returned to training and could come back into the reckoning for a place at centre-back.

Son Heung-min will play his last match before departing for the Asian Cup and seems set to line up with Dele Alli, Christian Eriksen and Harry Kane again in Mauricio Pochettino’s 4-4-2 diamond system.

Erik Lamela is another option in the attacking midfield positions but hasn’t featured as anything other than a substitute in four weeks.

With Victor Wanyama (knee) and Eric Dier (appendix) out and Mousa Dembele (ankle) not match-fit, Harry Winks and Moussa Sissoko look secure starters in midfield – though Oliver Skipp is another option there if needed.

The fit-again Serge Aurier could put pressure on Kieran Trippier at right-back, while Ben Davies will contest the left-back slot with Danny Rose as Pochettino’s rotation continues in that position.
