After being ineligible to face AC Milan in the UEFA Europa League, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will return for the home meeting with Watford.

He could play in front of an attacking midfield trio of Alex Iwobi, Mesut Ozil and Henrikh Mkhitaryan, with Danny Welbeck likely to drop to the bench after paying the full 90 minutes in Thursday night’s 2-0 win.

A 4-2-3-1 would leave Granit Xhaka, Jack Wilshere and Aaron Ramsey battling for two spots at the base of midfield.

Alternatively, all three may start in a 4-3-3, with Iwobi then missing out. Mohamed Elneny provides further midfield cover.

Sead Kolasinac and Calum Chambers were forced off with knocks against Milan, and are injury concerns.

Nacho Monreal remains doubtful with a back injury, while Hector Bellerin didn’t travel to Milan due to a knee problem.

So Ainsley Maitland-Niles may well earn a start, while Rob Holding could come in at centre-back, seeing Shkodran Mustafi shift across to right-back.

Elneny, Reiss Nelson and Per Mertesacker are other possible options in defence.

Alexandre Lacazette and Santi Cazorla are both out.
