Chelsea have been handed a massive blow in signing a replacement for N’Golo Kante who has been tipped to complete a move to either Paris Saint-Germain Real Madrid this summer, the Goal reports

The Blues were reportedly interested in signing Lyon star Tanguy Ndombele but the French club have revealed he won’t be sold this summer, French outlet L’Equipe.

Yet Lyon president Jean Michel-Aulas has dismissed any idea that Ndombele, also linked to Arsenal, Tottenham and Manchester United, could leave the Groupama Stadium.

“We have not had any offers for him,” Aulas said to RMC Sport about Ndombele.

“While other clubs are interested, he will be with us next year in the middle.

“We must not let our best players leave.”

Lyon have only just signed the midfielder themselves. They took him on loan from Amiens at the start of the season, with an option-to-buy of around £7m. After a strong campaign with the club, they activated that clause to sign him permanently.

After the 21-year-old made 50 appearances for them this season, they may want to hang onto him a bit longer. Then again, they have the opportunity to make a quick profit if they’d rather do that instead.
