Chelsea and Arsenal are in the race to sign out-of-favour Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, the Sunday Mirror reports.
Both clubs will have to pay a cut-price of £10million in January as his current deal at Old Trafford is set to expire next summer.
It is understood the Red Devils have an option to extend it for another 12 months but the club’s heirarchy are ready to sell him for as low as £10million.
The 22-year-old’s contract at Old Trafford runs out in the summer, although it is understood United have an option to extend it for another 12 months.
Ligue 1 giants Monaco, Serie A side Inter Milan and La Liga side Valencia are all keen to key into the opportunity presented by United.
However, the Brazilian has said he would want to remain in England leading the way for the Blues and the Gunners to possibly get his signature.
New Arsenal transfer chief Sven Mislintat, believes Pereira is the suitable player to back-up the Gunners midfield.
Pereira has been frozen out despite a promising preseason when he played more minutes on United’s tour of America than any of his team-mates.
He then impressed on his long-awaited full Premier League debut in the opening day’s win over Leicester, playing in a midfield three with Paul Pogba and Fred, with Jose Mourinho even saying he had “played phenomenally”.
