Chelsea have been handed a massive boost ahead of their next Premier League clash against Manchester United as report claims Nemanja Matic remains a doubt ahead of Saturday’s game.

The midfielder withdrew from the Serbia squad for the Nations League matches against Montenegro and Romania last week due to a back injury.

Matic, a former Chelsea player, will be a key figure in midfield for United with Jose Mourinho considering how to contain the in-form Eden Hazard.

Sky Sports claims Matic remains a doubt for United’s trip to west London.

And that would leave ex-Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho, who reunited with Matic at Old Trafford when he signed him for £40m in the summer of 2017, with a selection dilemma.

The Portuguese has opted for a 4-3-3 set up of late which would match Sarri’s system which has seen Chelsea remain unbeaten in all competitions this term.

The report further claims Luke Shaw is also a doubt for the game at Stamford Bridge and is still recovering from the knock he picked up before the international fixtures.

The left-back played no part in England’s fixtures due to the injury, and Mourinho may need to reshuffle his defence if Shaw is sidelined..
