As an Arsenal fan you are advised to take a sit before having a cursory glance over this news, as reports suggest that another Arsenal target is set to slip out of their hands.
Barely 48 hours after news of Arsenal ending their pursuit of Yannick Carrasco, the fans have been hit with the report that Lorient forward Alexis Claude-Maurice is set to join Borussia Monchengladbach.
Claude_Maurice has confirmed that he wants to join Gladbach, stating that he likes their plans for him as they focus on young players.
‘I want to join Gladbach,’ confirmed Claude-Maurice. They are a club that focus on young players, there is a good structure, they are playing in the Europa League. I like their project & it suits me.’
This is coming after Arsenal are reported to have agreed personal terms with the 21-year-old. The player was said to have agreed a 5-year deal with the Gunners ahead of a third bid by the English club.
The Gunners saw two bids rejected for the attacker and it was reported that Arsenal were preparing a third bid to match Lorient €20million valuation of their star attacker.
It was reported on Tuesday that Claude-Maurice had told his close friends that he wants to play for Arsenal, so this latest report leaves the fans in a confused state as to where the player would play next season.
Arsenal may have to look elsewhere for a striker but it is looking quite like another window where the Gunners may finish business on the last day of the transfer window.
