Manchester United will lock horn with Barcelona but report claims the Spanish club are leading the race for his signature and have already seen an opening bid reject by Chelsea.
Sky Sports broke the news of Barcelona’s initial £50m bid for the Brazilian, with talks still ongoing between the two clubs and representatives of the player.
Willian is not happy at Stamford Bridge and will look to leave the club this summer, according to former Arsenal midfielder Stewart Robson.
“Willian is inconsistent,” Robson told ESPN FC.
“He can be the best player on the field, he can be absolutely outstanding.
“On another day he can play poorly, as was the case in this World Cup where he was taken off at halftime in two of the games.
“I think he hasn’t been happy at Chelsea for a while, he doesn’t always start there.
“He will be looking to see who the next manager is.
“But I think Willian, with his quality, he’ll be leaving Chelsea.”
Manchester United are also keen on Willian, but Barcelona are looking to land the Brazil international winger.
The 29-year-old struggled to hold down a place for Chelsea last season, and was left out of the FA Cup final starting line-up by Antonio Conte.
Jose Mourinho has already been busy strengthening his squad ahead of next season.
Manchester United have signed Willian’s Brazil team-mate Fred and young right-back Diogo Dalot from Porto.
