AS Roma defender Kostas Manolas is reportedly pushing for a move to London as he continues to harbor his summer desire of moving away from the Stadio Olympico.

The center back who is a long term target for the Gunners has been linked with a move to the Emirates for some time, before and after his move from Olympiakos to Rome in 2014.

The Greek international looked set to end his three-year stay in Italy in June to join Zenit but the deal broke down at the last minute reportedly due to the currency in which he wanted his wages paid in.

It was rumoured Chelsea were set to hijack the deal but in the end opted for Roma teammate Antonio Rüdiger.

Recent reports are now indicating that Manolas who remains keen on a move has pleaded with interested parties to come sign him.

According to Corriere dello Sport via Football Forecast, Manolas has sent out a clear ‘come and get me plea’ to potential suitors Notably, both Chelsea and Arsenal by insisting a £26m buy-out clause is inserted into his new contract.

The Roma man’s contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2019 but the Italian outfit who have finished runners-up in three of the last four Serie A campaigns are desperate to tie him down to a new deal to ward off any fresh bids.

Arsene Wenger may be very tempted to sign the defender he has monitored for a while.

The Gunners who currently play with three central defenders at the back could do with the addition of another proven international central defender, the player being available for such a bargain fee in the current market would also appeal to the gaffer.

Of the three first choice defenders at the Emirates, Nacho Monreal and Lorient Koscienly are on the wrong side of thirty while Shkodran Mustafi faces an uncertain future having been heavily linked with a move away last window.

Manolas has however continued in very impressive fashion in Rome, the defender opened the scoring for his side in their Champions League match against Qarabag last night.
