Arsenal and Manchester United are interested in signing Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda, according to reports.

The winger made his first appearance for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup game against Nottingham Forest last Wednesday, having been promoted to the first team in the summer.

According to the Evening Standard, Chelsea are set to open talks with Musonda, as Premier League rivals circle around the Belgian teenager.

Arsenal and Manchester United are believed to be keeping tabs on Musonda and could make a move to sign him at the slightest opportunity.

Musonda’s contract doesn’t expire until the summer of 2019 but Chelsea are determined to ward off interest from rival clubs for his services.

It isn’t surprising that Arsenal are one of the clubs believed to be keeping tabs on the midfielder especially as we are one of the few clubs in the Premier League with a good history of developing youngsters.

Personally, I think Arsenal have a number of talented youngsters like Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who are talented as well and can become great players if given first team opportunities.

We would be better focusing on developing these ones on our books already, who have been nurtured with the club’s values radar than signing a rival player who may end up costing us a lot more.
