One of Arsenal’s rising young stars Xavier Amaechi has suffered an injury that will see rule him out of action until next year., according to reports.
The promising forward picked up the foot problem during the recent international break, as he trained in the England Under-18s setup.
Amaechi had started the season in fine form – both with the Under-18s and Freddie Ljungberg’s U23s, but he injured his foot while away training with England and a scan has now revealed the extent of the problem was far worse than first feared.
The injury was initially only expected to keep him out for a short period of time, but Amaechi has now confirmed via social media that he will not be back until 2019.
The tricky winger had been tipped for big things ahead of the new era at Arsenal under Unai Emery but has seen his progress brought to a halt after sustaining a serious foot injury.
