Manchester City are in talks with Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta to replace Mikel Arteta as Guardiola’s assistant, according to the Metro.
Mikel Arteta who played for Arsenal before retiring, has been Assistant manager to Guardiola for the past two years.
He has emerged as a favorite to replace Arsene Wenger at Arsenal, with some reports even claiming he has agreed terms with the Gunners and he is said to have informed his current boss on Thursday of his decision to quit his post at Man City.
Guardiola and director of football Txiki Begiristan are reported to have given him their blessing and are now making moves for his replacement.
Iniesta earlier this month announced that he’ll be parting company with Barcelona at the end of the season after 22 years at the club.
He revealed he would not be playing in Europe as never wants to play against Barcelona, and as such has been expected to move to Japan, China or America.
But he now has a chance to work with his former teammate and manager Guardiola as an assistant in Manchester City.
