Arsenal consider Alexandre Lacazette Atletico ‘swap deal’ after balloon video

Arsenal are ready to offload Alexandre Lacazette following his latest disciplinary incident.

The Frenchman is facing an uncertain future at the club after footage obtained by the Daily Star showed him taking ‘hippy crack’.

The 28-year-old, who earns £180,000-a-week could now be offloaded by club chiefs in a swap deal with Atletico Madrid.

Spanish outlet AS say the Gunners will revive their interest in long-term transfer target Thomas Lemar, who has fallen out of favour under manager Diego Simeone.

Arsenal missed out on the French flyer in 2018 after he snubbed a move to England in favour of a La Liga switch.

Lemar has only started 11 games this season and has failed to live up to expectations at Los Colchoneros.

Atletico have previously attempted to land Lacazette, only to be rebuffed by Arsenal.

But after the latest developments involving the player, the north London outfit may be ready to use the striker in a part exchange deal.

A statement from the club at the weekend said: “This is a private matter which we are taking seriously. It will be handled internally.”

Arsenal have previously warned the France international and several team-mates over the use of nitrous oxide.

In August 2018, a group of players including Lacazette were videoed passing out after inhaling the gas, dubbed “hippy crack”, from balloons at a wild champagne and vodka party.

The footage showed the striker and team-mates Matteo Guendouzi, Mesut Ozil and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang at the heart of the bash.

Arsenal have also been heavily linked with Lemar’s Atleti team-mate Thomas Partey.

The Ghanian central midfielder is a top target for Mikel Arteta at the Emirates this summer.

However, Partey’s agents have recently shut down rumours that the Atletico star is Premier League-bound in the near future.
