Arsenal are interested in signing Chelsea forward Charly Musonda, according to reports.

The winger made his full debut for Chelsea in the Carabao Cup game against Nottingham Forest last month and has made a few more substitute appearances in the Premier League this season.

According to Foot Mercato via the Daily Express, Arsenal are one of the clubs keen on Musonda and are already lining up ways to sign him.

Although, Chelsea want to open talks with Musonda, as Premier League rivals circle around the Belgian teenager. The player is worried about the amount of game time he is getting and he has supposedly informed Chelsea that he wants to leave in the January transfer window.

And Foot Mercato say Arsenal have followed up the latest development by contacting the player’s representative about a move.

Musonda’s contract at Chelsea doesn’t expire until the summer of 2019 and the Blues are determined to ward off interest from rival clubs.

Even if he refuses to sign a new deal, Chelsea could still decide against selling him in the winter, meaning we may have to wait a little long. If he stands his ground, we could get the chance to sign him on a cheap next summer or for nothing in a couple of years.

It isn’t surprising that Arsenal are one of the clubs believed to be keeping tabs on the midfielder especially as we are one of the few clubs in the Premier League with a good history of developing youngsters.

Arsenal already have a number of talented youngsters like Reiss Nelson, Eddie Nketiah and Ainsley Maitland-Niles who are talented as well and can become great players if given first team opportunities. I don’t see any need why we should be so keen on Musonda but he’ll be welcome if he happens to make the switch to the Emirates.
