Eddie Nketiah has enjoyed quite the start to life at Leeds United since joining on a season-long loan on deadline day.

The England Under-21 international, who was wanted by over 20 clubs during the summer, has already scored four times for the Whites, even though he is yet to start a Championship game under Marcelo Bielsa.

And according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay, Leeds are already stressing about the possibility of the Gunners potentially recalling the striker in January.

Hay claims that Arsenal could bring the striker back to the Emirates in the new year if he fails to make a fixed number of appearances by January, a clause regularly put in by Premier League sides when loaning players out.

Nketiah is already a fan favourite at Elland Road and a first Championship start doesn’t seem to be far away for the 20-year-old.

He made an impact off the bench in the Championship against both Brentford and most recently Barnsley, helping the Whites to two vital wins with late strikes.

Arsenal probably won’t have a choice in regards to recalling the player come January, with Leeds expected to meet the fixed amount of appearances clause.

Even if they somehow don’t meet the set target, it would the best decision for all involved to allow the striker to remain in Yorkshire for the entire campaign.

A whole season away from the Emirates will help Nketiah develop as a player both on and off the pitch, and if he can help Leeds to the Premier League, he’ll certainly be in with a shout of breaking into Unai Emery’s side next season.
