Arsenal are keen on signing Bayer Leverkusen winger Leon Bailey, according to reports on 101GreatGoals.
The 21-year-old winger moved to the BayArena from Genk in January 2017 for a fee in the region of €20 million after impressing in both the Europa and domestic Belgian league that season.
He impressed during his first full season with the club scoring 12 times and providing 6 assists in 34 appearances.
His performances attracted the likes of Manchester United and Barcelona during the summer, but the Catalans were priced out of a move for him and bought Malcom instead.
Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool were reported to also hold some level of interest in the Jamaican and they have now been handed a significant boost in their pursuit with news that he is considering his options after what has been a less than impressive season for him.
So far this season the 21-year-old has made 9 appearances for Leverkusen, but only 5 have come as starts as he competes with Julian Brandt and Karim Bellarabi for a place in the attack.
He is now seriously considering his future as a result according to a close source, ESPN gathered that it will ‘be considered whatever is in the best interest of the player and in this case it may not be to remain at Leverkusen under these circumstances.’
‘Leon is 21 now, with aspirations of being one of the world’s top players. He can’t do so from the bench in Leverkusen.’
