Unai Emery is considering bringing Ismael Bennacer back to Arsenal.

That’s according to French publication Le10 Sport, who claim Arsenal are thinking about triggering a buy-back clause in his contract.

Bennacer made one senior appearance for Arsenal – starting in a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday in the Carabao Cup in 2015.

The central midfielder was sold to Empoli for £900k in August 2017.

He was pivotal in Empoli’s promotion to Serie A and has since been capped seven times by Algeria.

Now, Le10 Sport claim Arsenal are considering re-signing the 21-year-old by activating a buy-back clause in his contract.

Carlo Ancelotti’s side, who face Arsenal over two legs in the Europa League quarter-finals, are said to be keen to add Bennacer to their squad ahead of next season, but the North London outfit have the advantage due to a clause in his contract.

Bennacer, who has seven senior caps for his country, has clocked up four assists in Serie A so far this term.

A move to Napoli would see him get the chance to force himself into contention for Champions League football, with Carlo Ancelotti’s side sitting second in Serie A.
