Manchester United will not make any move to sign Mesut Ozil in the January transfer window.
The Germany international has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford, with reports claiming he is desperate to work with Mourinho again.
Wenger, last week, slammed those reports linking the midfielder with a January move to Old Trafford and it does seem there is nothing in those rumors after all.
According to Manchester Evening news via the Mirror, Ozil has been advised to stay at Arsenal until the end of the season.
The German’s contract expires at the end of the season and Manchester United are encouraging him to run down the length of his contract so he can join them for free.
Utd insists that is the only way they can pay Ozil the mammoth salary he is demanding. The German currently earns around £150,000 per week but reports say he is demanding a new deal worth in excess of £300,000.
Arsenal are only prepared to offer the midfielder around £200,000 and the player’s reluctance to reduce his demands have caused negotiations to stall, which may eventually lead to his exit.
Ozil will be free to enter into talks with Arsenal in January but United are yet to firm up their interest and they are expected to take their time before making a concrete move, now that they only want a deal done in the summer
