The Saints travel to the Emirates Stadium this Saturday afternoon to face Unai Emery’s struggling Arsenal.
Southampton are currently in 19th place in the table whilst the Gunners sit in sixth. Both sides are desperate for a win to provide a massive morale-boost and to also get the fans back on their side.
The Gunners have been boosted by the return of youngster Emile Smith Rowe, who had been struggling with a calf issue in recent weeks, as reported on Football London
However, he shrugged it off and featured for the England Under-20 side during the international break so he looks set to be in contention to make the matchday squad.
Smith Rowe is unlikely to be handed a start against the Saints as he’s generally been used more in the cup competitions.
However, being in the squad means that he could potentially emerge from the bench and make a difference.
The Saints will need to be organised and rigid, just as they were at the Etihad during the 2-1 defeat to Manchester City.
