Arsenal hold the key?
Wolverhampton Wanderers’ Premier League rivals Arsenal could have a role to play in any potential deal for Franck Kessie, according to reports.
Wolves boss Nuno Espirito Santo is an admirer of Kessie and the AC Milan midfielder was one of several players the club considered during the summer transfer window.
They were, however, unable to strike a deal for an extra midfielder after completing transfers for Kessie’s former Milan teammate Patrick Cutrone, Jesus Vallejo, Pedro Neto and Bruno Jordao.
In a move that would clear the way for Kessie to leave, Milan are reportedly set to contact Arsenal over a £13million transfer for out of favour midfielder Mohamed Elneny.
Elneny is currently on loan at Turkish club Besiktas, who Wolves recently defeated in the Europa League, but Arsenal reportedly have the option to recall him in January.
If Elneny joins Milan the likes of Wolves and Monaco, as well as a host of other linked clubs, could make their move for 22-year-old midfielder Kessie.
