Arsenal are in pole position to beat Manchester United to the signing of Hakim Ziyech this summer, with the winger set to leave Ajax for just £25million.
The Morocco international has previously insisted it is his ‘dream’ to play for the Gunners and quotes Mesut Ozil as his hero.
Ziyech has been central to Ajax’s success this term, notching up 19 goals and 16 assists in all competitions, but the 26-year-old will be be playing his football elsewhere next season.
Ajax Amsterdam sporting director Marc Overmars has announced that their star winger Hakim Ziyech will be allowed to leave the club when the transfer window opens in the summer.
The ex-Arsenal winger said: “He leaves when a top club comes. He is in focus because of his achievements in the Champions League.
“Many big clubs are buzzing around him. We promised Hakim [that we would] agree to a good transfer.”

Though Liverpool and Manchester United have both been credited with an interest, Ziyech previously stated that his ‘ultimate dream’ would be a move to Arsenal.
