Arsenal new manager Unai Emery have already fallen six points back of Maurizio Sarri and Chelsea after Saturday’s defeat in the Premier League.
Arsenal lost 3-2 to Chelsea in their second League games with the Blues surviving a scare to secure all three points and consign Emery to a second consecutive defeat.
The Blues got an early lead through Pedro and Alvaro Morata, only for Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Alex Iwobi to restore level up the game before the end of halftime.
Marcos Alonso then struck a late goal to ensure their winning start under Sarri continues.
Emery has laughed off rumours of a rift with Sarri after appearing to snub his Chelsea counterpart in the immediate aftermath of Saturday’s Premier League clash.
The Spaniard headed straight down the tunnel following the Gunners’ topsy-turvy 3-2 loss at Stamford Bridge, having seen his side concede a late goal.
Asked about the lack of a handshake at full time, Emery told reporters: “I waited for him in the dressing room to give him my hand.”
Arsenal currently sits in 17th place in the log after suffering two defeat to Manchester City and Chelsea respectively.
