It appears Arsenal and Mesut Ozil aren’t close to any agreement as regards a contract renewal.
The club are believed to have held talks with the midfielder in recent weeks but haven’t been able to strike an agreement.
Just last week, Ozil’s agent gave Gooners hope that an agreement could be reached when he claimed negotiations are at a good state but we’ve been hearing this in the last two years.
Manchester United and Inter Milan are the two clubs currently being linked with a January move for the midfielder
Calciomercato are now claiming both clubs have been informed of Ozil’s valuation.
The report says Arsenal could sell Ozil for £20m in the new year if he continues to stall on a new deal.
January is the only window the Gunners can get a fee for the German or risk losing him for free next summer. So it wouldn’t be surprising if we consider selling him in the new year.
However, I don’t really think Arsenal have placed a price tag on the midfielder yet, even if it has done so, I don’t think it has informed the player’s suitors. Any move of sort will be inviting bids for the German and in turn sending signals to the player’s camp that we are no longer interested in a contract renewal.
