Arsenal are set to lose more players as club legend David Seaman points out that the club’s inability to extend the contracts of their key players could see them left behind by their rivals, according to the Daily Star.
A number of Arsenal players’ contracts are set to expire at the end of the season, including Mesut Ozil and Jack Wilshere who are both key players at the club, and they just lost Alexis Sanchez to Man United who was in a similar situation.
David Seaman feels the club failure to tie their key players down will see them left behind by their rivals as he predicts more painful exits to come after Alexis Sanchez’s.
“The sad part is we’ve lost a quality player in Alexis Sanchez, and we don’t need that to carry on.
“We want to get these guys signed up, get that all sorted out and then try and move on.
“We do need to move one because we’re getting a little bit left behind.”
What makes Arsenal’s contracts situation more disappointing is how easily their rivals and even lesser clubs quickly tie up their key players.
Man City recently announced De Bruyne and Fernandinho contract extensions, while Tottenham have extended Harry Kane, Christian Eriksen, Dele Alli, and Hugo Lloris contracts without much drama or news.
Jack Wilshere has indicated he will extend his contract and will begin talks after the transfer window closes, while Wenger remains confident Ozil will extend his deal. Juventus and Man United respectively maintain interest in both players.
