Arsenal are ready to present an attractive offer to Layvin Kurzawa to lure him away from competition from Barcelona, according to a report.

Spanish newspaper Sport (via Sport Witness) report that Arsenal are ready to make an offer for Layvin Kurzawa. The PSG full-back is out of contract this summer, and Ligue 1 is already off, meaning he’s totally free to discuss his future elsewhere at this point.

Arsenal aren’t the only club in the race, with Barcelona proving their biggest competition. The Catalan outlet claim Kurzawa would prefer the Barca move, but the Gunners are ‘ready to fight’ to win him over.

It’s worth mentioning they don’t rule out the possibility of Kurzawa renewing with PSG. It seems unlikely, but there’s an argument to be made that coronavirus made it a possibility.

Thanks to the football shutdown, Euro 2020 will now take place in 2021. Kurzawa will still hope to make the France squad, after a couple of international call-ups in 2019. He might see staying with PSG as the best way to keep himself in Didier Deschamps’ eyeline.

Playing every week is always the best way to impress national team managers, though. If he thinks he’ll get more chances at Arsenal, maybe that will push him to move.

Personally, I wouldn’t give him any assurances on that front. The Gunners still have Kieran Tierney, Sead Kolasinac and Bukayo Saka, so Kurzawa would have to fight for his spot.
