The Arsenal boss sprung a few surprises in his first line-up of the season as youngsters Joe Willock and Reiss Nelson started.
Calum Chambers also started alongside Sokratis Papastathopoulos in the heart of defence as the Gunners beat Newcastle 1-0.
Arsenal take on Burnley in the early game on Saturday with Emery expected to make a few changes.
There could be debuts for David Luiz and Nicolas Pepe but Alexandre Lacazette could struggle to get back into the team.
Kieran Tierney and Hector Bellerin are still out which means Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Nacho Monreal are set to continue.
It is not known if Mesut Ozil and Sead Kolasinac will return after not being included for the Newcastle game due to ‘security concerns’.
Lucas Torreira and Lacazette have both had minor problems in pre-season but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see them start at the Emirates.
As for new signings Luiz and Pepe are the two quality additions available to Emery right now.
It would make sense for both to start with Chambers and Nelson the most likely to drop out.
After beating Newcastle, Emery explained why none of his new signings started the Premier League campaign.
“I explained that the circumstances are different,” Emery said.
“David Luiz did pre-season with another team and he is okay to play physically but he only trained completely with us yesterday.
“On Friday he did 30 minutes with us. I was thinking to give them confidence to work together because they were working well together, Sokratis and Chambers.
“Nicolas Pepe came one week ago and physically he needs to get his best fitness to be ready to play 100 per cent for 90 minutes. I think that today 20 minutes is good for him.
