Thomas Partey will miss more games as the injury that was only meant to keep him out for a game or two turns into something worse.
Would Thomas Partey have helped Arsenal against Wolves on Sunday? Undoubtedly, but it’s a bit much to expect one player to fix the sh*t-show that is Arsenal at present.
As it stands, it looks like we will be going to White Hart Lane next weekend without Partey, which sadly always seemed inevitable the longer Arsenal failed to provide more precise information about Partey.
Speaking about the midfielder after the Wolves game on Sunday night, Arteta said, “I don’t think he will be with us in the next few games but still, we’ve been missing a lot of players.
“We have many different issues but I don’t like to use that excuse. At the end of the day, we are always really close to winning football matches and we have ended up losing them in the last few games and this is only in our hands with the players that we have. It’s what we have to do, we cannot change that. It is in our hands.”
Arteta was also asked if that all meant the injury was worse than first feared to which he replied simply, “Yes.”

I’m not entirely sure how Arteta thinks Arsenal were ‘really close’ to winning the game against Wolves when most fans would agree we were lucky to only lose 2-1. Wolves dominated for the majority of the match and Arsenal never took the lead, only chased it.
Rumour has it that Partey could well be out for the whole of December which, if true, is a massive blow to Arsenal’s chances in the league with nine games in all competitions to play and five points to fourth place already in our way.
