Bayern Munich are reportedly plotting a move for Arsenal youth star Xavier Amaechi.
The 18-year-old is under contract at Arsenal having signed his first pro deal when he turned 17, but is already drawing comparisons with Jadon Sancho and former Arsenal winger Serge Gnabry.
Sancho has shot to prominence this season after swapping Manchester City for Borussia Dortmund in search of regular first team football.
Gnabry on the other hand learned his trade with the Arsenal youth system and was tipped for greatness before series of injuries hindered his progress, and then he finally decided to join Bayern Munich, where he has so far been a hit.
Amaechi’s creativity is inviting suitors from across Europe and Football London claim Bayern have been tracking the teenager with a view to poaching him from Arsenal.
Bayern failed in a bid to lure Callum Hudson-Odoi to Germany in January after Chelsea blocked the move, despite the forward handing in a transfer request.
Amaechi, who starred for the England’s U17 at the last European Championships, is set to be the next young Englishman Bayern will attempt to sign after he made a stunning return from injury.
A foot injury kept Amaechi sidelined for the start of the season, but the right winger has grabbed four goals and five assists since making his comeback.
Bayern’s interest in Hudson-Odoi will not influence their plans for Amaechi, as the Germans side continue their renewed efforts to raid England’s youth ranks.
Unai Emery is yet to call Amaechi up to the senior squad and the youngster is still waiting for his first appearance for the first team.
