Arsenal are one of the clubs interested in signing Barcelona youngster Abel Ruiz, according to a report in the BBC via Daily Cannon.
The youngster is highly rated at Barcelona and is being tipped to be a big player for the Catalan club and Spain national team in the future.
He is currently attracting interest from a host of Premier League clubs who could launch a bid for him in the new year.
Ruiz’s has a £3m release clause in his contract which expires in 2019 and Arsenal want to trigger the clause.
However, we aren’t the only ones interested in signing the striker, the Mirror claims Manchester City and Chelsea are also keen on the 17 year old.
Barcelona are aware of growing interest in the youngster and are keen to negotiate a new contract with him to eliminate the clause.
It will now depend on how well we are able to convince Ruiz that moving to the Emirates would be best for his development.
Arsenal have an history of signing Barcelona youngsters in the past. Cesc Fabregas, Fran Merida, Julio Pleguezuelo, Jon Toral and Hector Bellerin were all signed from Barcelona’s academy, although only Fabregas and Bellerin went on to make impact in our first team. Ruiz could just be the next, who knows?
