Reiss Nelson is regarded as a future star by many at the Emirates and has recently shone on international duty.
The 19-year-old represented England at Under-21 level over the past four days and scored the winner in the 3-2 away win over Turkey.
Nelson will now return to his parent club and continue to push for a starting role under Unai Emery.
And talking to the club’s official website, the highly-rated teenager was full of praise for plenty of his senior teammates, including new signing David Luiz.
It’s a great feeling to have a lot of big characters in the team who are willing to help the younger players come through and help them do well. You see the likes of Laca, Auba and Granit who are all big players in the team.
David Luiz is a new addition and he’s always talking to me, always talking about the mental side of football. You can have a bad pass or a bad shot, but you need to do this to take the risk. You need to shoot to score the goal. If it goes wide, you just need to keep going and keep your head up. I think that helps you a lot.
And these Arsenal fans were quick to reply to Nelson’s comments, with many heaping praise on the wide man.
It’s refreshing to hear Nelson’s comments regarding the senior players helping the younger professionals at the top level.
Nelson himself will now have a greater chance of more game time under Emery following Henrikh Mkhitaryan’s season-long loan move to AS Roma.
The teenager will have to improve on his first two appearances of the season, however, it’s easy to forget he is still just 19 years of age – Nelson definitely has the ability to go right to the top at the Emirates.
Love you, Reiss
