Former Manchester United defender Gary Neville has said that he doesn’t believe Arsenal and Chelsea are genuine Premier League title contenders this season despite having an almost perfect start under new manager Unai Emery.
As the season pauses for the October international break, Chelsea currently sit second in the table level on points with defending champions Manchester City as well as Liverpool following a comfortable 3-0 win over Southampton on Sunday afternoon.
Arsenal are two points further back, level with north London rivals Spurs, having won six of their eight league games and nine in a row in all competitions.
But Neville still sees the title being contested between Man City and Liverpool.
He told Sky Sports: “I don’t think Arsenal… I don’t think they’ll be challenging for the title
“( Chelsea ) have started the season well. But after eight games I still think it’s very early to think about Chelsea challenging (Man City or Liverpool).”
