Edinson Cavani insists he has no intention to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer amid speculation he has been earmarked to replace Alvaro Morata at Chelsea.
The Uruguay international scored from the penalty spot as PSG secured a 2-0 win over Les Herbiers on Tuesday night in the French Cup final to seal another domestic treble.
Cavani, who earlier this season succeeded Zlatan Ibrahimovic as the Ligue 1 champions’ all-time leading goalscorer, has a contract which runs until 2020 and remains adamant he sees his future in the French capital.
‘My future is here, of course,’ said the 31-year-old.
‘I think that it has been a good season and intense. ‘We must enjoy moments like these. I am pleased for the supporters and to be here.
‘Four consecutive Coupe de France wins represents a lot of history for PSG. We are here to win and win titles for the club.
‘I would like to thank Unai. I know that he gave everything for PSG each day.
‘He is leaving but he should be congratulated because we can be sure that he gave the maximum for the club.’
Morata, meanwhile, has struggled since the turn of the year, hampered by a persistent back injury, with his first team opportunities restricted by the form of Olivier Giroud, a January signing from Arsenal.
Ahead of tonight’s must-win match against Huddersfield, Antonio Conte urged the Spain international to ignore the conjecture surrounding his future and focus on the task in hand.
‘He is fit and in contention for tomorrow’s game,’ Conte confirmed ahead of Wednesday’s game against Huddersfield.
‘I don’t like to comment on speculation. It is not right and we have to focus on the present and finish the season in the best way.
‘He is Chelsea’s player and must be ready to play tomorrow and next season. The situation is very clear.
‘I think in this season it was difficult, not only for him. I like the focus to be on the whole team, not only the one player.’
