Chelsea have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Bayern Munich midfielder as The Express claims that the Bundesliga club will not sell to Inter Milan.
Vidal has been linked with a move away from Bayern with the club not making any move to extend his contract despite only 12 months remaining on it. It is believed that the club wants to cash in on the 30-year-old to make way for the younger players at the club.
Inter Milan and Chelsea have both been linked with the Chilean ahead of a move in the January transfer window.
And Antonie Conte is eager to reunite with him after their time in Juventus, he also needs him to compliment Ngolo Kante in Chelsea’s central midfield.
Fortunately, Italian newspaper CalcioMercato now claim there’s no hope of the box to box midfielder making a move to the San Siro in the New Year.
Inter are said to want a loan deal for the midfielder with a first-refusal clause, but Bayern are not interested in such a deal. This has cleared the path for Chelsea to make a move.
Chelsea bought Bakayoko and Danny Drinkwater over the summer to compliment Kante with both performing decently so far, but a world class player like Vidal would be a better option in that position.
