Chelsea bag another deal after transfer deadline day

The transfer window has been closed for teams in the Premier League but other deal are still flying in.

Chelsea have announced an extended partnership deal with Unilever, which already incorporates the Shield and Rexona brands in Africa and Sure in the UK.

Chris Townsend OBE, commercial director, Chelsea FC, said: ‘At Chelsea we pride ourselves on working with some of the world’s leading companies, so we are delighted to extend our existing relationship with Unilever, welcoming Rexona as our new global personal care partner.

‘Over the past two years we have demonstrated that working in close partnership together is key to delivering some exciting and inspirational campaigns.

‘We have been immensely proud to work with Rexona to create football development programmes for aspiring young talent and we now look forward to maximising the potential of our partnership on a global scale.’

Joanna Allen, Rexona’s global brand vice president, added: ‘We’re delighted to extend our partnership with Chelsea Football Club. The team’s international appeal gives us a fantastic platform to reach Rexona’s global target audience, for whom football is a key passion point.

‘We look forward to working closely with the club, encouraging people to move more to live more, making every moment matter.’

The length of Rexona’s deal with Chelsea was not disclosed but it will serve as the global personal care partner of the London-based club.

Chelsea has an existing relationship with Unilever, which incorporates the Shield and Rexona brands in Africa and Sure in the UK.

Unilever has been a partner of Chelsea since January 2017. Chelsea has worked with Sure on partnership activations, while the club’s affiliation with Shield and Rexona in Africa focuses on creating grassroots football initiatives.
