Zinedine Zidane has been told by Real Madrid board that they will not be pursuing a move for Eden Hazard, and that he should make do with Marco Asensio instead, according to the Daily Star
Zidane has been a longtime admirer of Eden Hazard, and the feeling has been mutual with the player speaking of his admiration for the Real Madrid boss on a number of occasions.
Hazard’s father had earlier raised concerns when he suggested that his son was holding off signing for Chelsea in other to attract Madrid.
However, those concerns have been cleared with Marca reporting that Madrid’s board will not sanction a move for the Belgian playmaker.
They believe Zidane has been underusing talented midfielder Marcos Asensio and addition of Eden Hazard would further decrease his chances, a situation the capital club heads don’t want to happen.
Marcos Asensio has been used sparingly this season even with a number of first team players injured at times this season, the Spanish international has been handed just a handful of league starts and a single Champions league start.
This will come as good news to Chelsea and their fans, as Eden Hazard has been a key player for the Blues and a player they will do well not to lose.
