Report making the round claims Chelsea are planning a raid players in Serie A, and part of the reason for that is the potential loss of Olivier Giroud and Granqvist Cahill in the January transfer window, according to Tuttosport.

Manchester United have been linked with Cahill previously but it didn’t seem especially strong and didn’t go down very well with the club’s supporters.

It would be no surprise if Mourinho is looking to add experience to his squad in the defensive areas, and this week claims came from Sweden that 33-year-old Andreas Granqvist is also under consideration by those dealing with transfers at Old Trafford.

Besiktas are also said to be in the running to sign the player, who has fallen out of favour under Sarri.

Cahill has admitted that he will consider leaving the club in January in order to find the regular first-team football.

Cahill has been a regular at Chelsea after arriving from Bolton back in 2012, but his days at Stamford Bridge appear to be numbered.
