The Blues have made a new contract offer that would make their Belgian shot-stopper – Thibaut Courtois, Chelsea’s highest paid player and the highest paid goalkeeper in the world.
Report according to Standard Sport, reveal this month the Belgian International was considering returning to Spain due to his two children living in Madrid.
The report also added top European clubs – Paris Saint Germain, Athletico Madrid and Real Madrid to the Belgian International. However, Chelsea are determined to keep the 25 years old Belgian.
Courtois £100,000 a week deal has just 18 months, prompting the Blues first proposal which was rejected in May as it was less than the £200,000 a week he demanded.
With director Marina Granovskaia’s effort to get an agreement over the line, it has been reported according to Standard sport the latest offer including bonuses, now exceeds the requested £200,000 and will make the Belgian International the highest paid goalkeeper in the World.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte stressed the importance of securing the Belgian International earlier this month.
Courtois has been a major part of Chelsea’s three major trophies including two league titles.
The Blues remain confident to hold Thibaut Courtois for another 5 years.
