Chelsea have been put on alert amid reports Real Madrid star Marco Asensio could be sold in January for £100million.
Liverpool and Manchester United are also said to have an interest in the 22-year-old Spaniard, who has struggled so far this season.
According to Spanish newspaper Marca , Los Blancos boss Julen Lopetegui is prepared to let Asensio leave the Santiago Bernabeu – providing a club meets the asking price.
Liverpool and Manchester United have also previously sniffed around the Bernabeu, and it would be no surprise if there was a scramble for his signature in January.
But while the club may be prepared to allow the talent to leave, the player himself might be less keen.
We previously reported last month how Asensio insists he has never wanted to leave the club.
Asensio said: “I’ve never had the intention to go anywhere.
“This is my third season. In this one I think I have continuity and more prominence, and I’m seeing [improvement in] the performances I’m doing.”
