Arsenal captain Laurent Koscielny has found himself at the middle of controversy following his decision to boycott Arsenal’s pre-season tour to force a move out of Emirates Stadium.
The legendary captain has been with the Gunners since 2010 and he is willing to move elsewhere before the end of the summer, but the club are reluctant to release him.
Koscielny’s action to boycott the friendly matches has been the most heated controversial issue at the ongoing transfer market as ex-players, football pundits and the Gunners faithful criticised the Frenchman.
However, former Arsenal centre-forward Olivier Giroud has spoken out his mind about the ongoing transfer saga.
The Frenchman, who left the Gunners for Stamford Bridge in 2017, called on the media to stop damaging his compatriot’s image.
“I feel very sad for him because he’s a great person and the media wants to give a bad image of him, “
According to him while speaking with BBC Sports, Koscielny is a gentle, respectful and great role model to up-and-coming youngsters.
