Andreas Christensen has warned Maurizio Sarri that he will ask to leave Chelsea if he doesn’t secure a regular role at Stamford Bridge.

Christensen, 22, was a regular starter for Antonio Conte.

He played 40 matches for Chelsea last term, and Christensen was voted Chelsea’s young player of the season.

Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz has been Sarri’s preferred partnership in central defence and with his playing time restricted to Carabao Cup and Europa League fixtures, Christensen admits he is‘not in a good situation’ at Chelsea.

‘It has been a hard season. To be honest, it has been very difficult,’ Christensen told BT.

‘I can’t have so much patience again. Now I’m 22 years old and I really want to play.

‘In the last three seasons, I’ve played regularly with every team I’ve been with, so it’s clear that I do not see myself staying if my current situation remains the same.

‘It’s too early to talk about when to change or if I’m going to change. But it is clear that it is not a good situation for me.

‘I had looked forward to getting our new manager. We play really good football, explosively and offensively all you can wish for.

“So that’s great, but it’s really annoying that I’m not on the pitch when it happens.’

Sarri has yet to start Christensen in a Premier League match this season.

Moreover, Christensen hasn’t even been brought off the bench by Sarri in a league game.

So far this year, Christensen has only made three appearances for the Blues.

He’s featured in Chelsea’s two Europa League matches and in the Carabao Cup.
