Chelsea could make a move for Alexis Sanchez when the transfer window reopens in January.
The Blues are big admirers of the forward and were one of the clubs that were first linked with the Chilean in the summer but had to turn attention elsewhere when other clubs joined the race.
Sanchez is in the final year of his contract and is expected to leave the Emirates next summer, having failed to reach an agreement over a new deal.
And Chelsea are believed to be keeping tabs on his situation and will be there to make a move if the opportunity presents itself.
The Blues are not the only ones watching the winger with keen interest as Paris Saint Germain, Manchester United, Inter Milan and Manchester City are all interested.
According to The Mirror via the Daily Star, Chelsea could make a move for Sanchez after its thing squad depth was laid bare by Morata’s injury.
The Spaniard is out with an hamstring injury and there are reports he could miss the next six to eight weeks. Conte now has only Michy Batshuayi as the only centre forward in the squad and signing a new striker could now be a necessity.
Sanchez would be a great option, considering he can play anywhere across the front three but it’s not going to be an easy deal to pull off because of the salary he would command and the number of big clubs interested in signing him.
Any bid from Chelsea in January is likely to spark a bidding war which could play into the player’s hands, giving him the opportunity to ask for a huge pay cheque.
