Chelsea are set to renew their interest in Alex Sandro, according to reports.

Conte chased Sandro all summer but Juventus weren’t interested in selling the Brazilian. Several attempts by the Blues to convince the Italians to part with the defender were unsuccessful but it appears Chelsea haven’t given up just yet and will try again when the transfer window reopens.

Last week, reports in Italy claimed the defender is close to signing a new contract at Juventus which will end Chelsea’s interest but according to Transfer Market Web, Sandro is still a major target of Conte and Chelsea will attempt to sign him in January.

However, the source claims Juventus will turn down any bid for the defender even if Chelsea come up with a huge bid.  The Italians see the defender as a key part of their team and are not prepared to lose him in January.

A January move was never going to be feasible. Sandro would be cup-tied for the Champions League in January, so Chelsea won’t be desperate to sign him. Juventus also do not have any reason to sell the defender, so it won’t make sense on either side to let the defender change clubs in January.

The summer was the best time for the move to happen and since it didn’t, it’s going to be until next summer, that’s if it ever happens.
