Cesc Fabregas is set to complete a £10 million (€11m/$13m) transfer to AC Milan in January, reports The Sun.
Chelsea manager Maurizio Sarri has given the green light to the move, with Fabregas making just nine appearances for the Blues this term.
The 31-year-old’s contract is set to expire at the end of the season, but Milan want the Spaniard in January as they deal with an injury crisis in midfield.
However, Fabregas insists he has held no talks with AC Milan over a move in January and has set his sights on staying at Chelsea for the rest of the season.
Fabregas is in the last year of his contract at Stamford Bridge and Chelsea look increasingly unlikely to give him an extension.
AC Milan are one of a number of clubs considering taking the Spain midfielder on loan in January. In the new year he can also start negotiating with foreign clubs over making a free transfer in the summer.
“No, I haven’t spoken to anyone. Obviously, in January I can sign with whoever I want (a pre-contract agreement for the summer) and probably this will attract many clubs., as quoted by Standard
“But so far, from what I can say right now, yes I will stay here until the end of the season. I play at Stamford Bridge, I’m happy, but of course, every player wants to play more.”
Fabregas revealed he’s had a meeting with Sarri over getting more game time.
He added: “I will play in the Premier League now. In December I will play matches. I already know which games I will play and I am ready for it.
