Willian and Alvaro Morata look good bets to start at Molineux on Wednesday after missing out on the west London derby, with Pedro and Olivier Giroud set to make way.
Mateo Kovacic was withdrawn with “fatigue” in the win over Fulham so news is awaited in Tuesday’s press conference on the availability of the Croatian midfielder and Ross Barkley (knock), with Ruben Loftus-Cheek – who Maurizio Sarri paid tribute to in his post-match comments on Sunday – on standby for a rare start if neither player is fully fit.
Marcos Alonso was substituted in that victory over the Cottagers, too, so we await word from Sarri in his presser regarding the reason for that; at the time the withdrawal looked purely tactical, with Alonso having a particularly poor game at left-back.
Emerson is the obvious candidate to replace Alonso if Sarri deems a rest necessary.
News is also awaited on Victor Moses (back), who was Chelsea’s only other injury doubt at the time of writing.
