Arsenal are set to offer Eddie Nketiah a new deal, according to reports.
The youngster played a starring role in Arsenal’s Carabao cup game against Norwich last week and has been receiving praises from every corner of the football world.
The Gunners are now lining up a new long term deal for the youngster, as a reward for his scintillating performance against the Canaries.
According to the Sun via Sports Mole, the new deal will see Nketiah receive a 650% increase on his current salary.
The 18 year old currently earns around £2,000 weekly but will now earn £15,000 per week when he signs the new deal.
Should everything go as planned, Nketiah will be contracted to Arsenal until the 2021-2022 season.
Wenger stated after the winger’s exploits against Norwich that he would soon get his chance in the Premier League and many Gooners are already looking forward to the youngster taking England’s top flight football competition by storm.
Gooners are excited by the player’s talent, so it won’t be surprising if rival clubs are also keeping tabs on his development, making it imperative for Arsenal to tie him down on a long-term contract.
Nketiah was part of Chelsea academy until he was released in 2015. He subsequently passed a trial at Arsenal and has been a key part of our academy until now.
He is now set to follow Alex Iwobi as Arsenal’s next academy product.
