Chelsea midfielder Charly Musonda completed a loan move to Celtic yesterday, and will spend the next 18 months in Scotland after breaking into the first team at Chelsea.
The Belgian midfielder joined the Blues in 2012 from Anderlecht as a 15-year-old, and rose through the youth ranks at the club, before going out on loan to Real Betis where he impressed before being drafted into the first team this season, scoring once in seven appearances so far.
Speaking to the press after the deal was completed, Celtic manager hailed him as a big talented and even suggested the Belgian might play the next game against Hearts.
“I’ve known him for a few years, a big thank you must go to Chelsea. He’s a shining light in their academy.
“It’s a great opportunity for him to show his talents. He has wonderful ability and is very dynamic. He’ll bring creativity to our side.”
The player also revealed his delight at joining the club.
“I feel really good. Massive club, really looking forward to it. I’m very lucky to be here and I’m very happy to be here.”
“It’s going to be unreal to play at Celtic Park. Hopefully I can do well for the team.“
He will now be looking to impress during his 18 months stay in Scotland and earn a permanent place in the Blues first team on his return.
